Boston Positioned to Strengthen Fight Against Foreclosures in 2009
The Department of Neighborhood Development, which has been tracking foreclosure data since early 2006, says Boston has been affected by approximately 1,750 foreclosures between early 2006 and 2008. During the same time period, however, the City has been able to help nearly 450 homeowners avert foreclosure, preserving over $130 million dollars in home values.
